The Cat Protection Society of Victoria (CPSV) Vet Clinic has been acknowledged as a Cat Friendly Clinic by the International Society of Feline Medicine (ISFM).
This is the third consecutive year that CPSV has been awarded this certification and underscores the clinic’s dedication to providing top-tier care in a calm, stress-free environment for every cat that comes through its doors.
Caitlyn Corrigan, Practice Manager at CPSV, emphasised the rarity of this recognition in Victoria.
“Only a small number of clinics in Victoria hold this accreditation, and CPSV is the only recognised clinic in the state that’s care is solely dedicated to cats.”
The Cat Friendly Clinic certification is granted by the ISFM, part of the veterinary arm of the charity International Cat Care. It is awarded to clinics that meet high standards of feline-focused care, ensuring staff understand cats’ needs, handle them gently, and provide a comfortable environment with the appropriate knowledge and equipment.
“Our team is proud to be cat-approved, and we are honoured to have been recognised for our ongoing commitment to putting our feline friends first.
“We prioritise a calm environment using gentle and low-stress handling techniques during consultations and treatments, supported by a dedicated team of vets, nurses, and receptionists who receive ongoing education.
“We offer comprehensive facilities for dentistry, surgery, X-rays, blood tests, and hospital care. Our cat-focused waiting room is designed to provide a calming experience for cats, complemented by resources to help owners reduce stress before vet visits.
“We really do everything we can to make sure both cats and their owners are in the safest hands when it’s time for care,” said Corrigan.
The clinic’s commitment to feline welfare is part of CPSV’s broader 75-year legacy as a safe haven for cats.
“We’re honoured to receive international recognition as a Cat Friendly Clinic, continuing our 75-year legacy of providing a safe haven for felines. Cats from all across Victoria are welcome here, and we’re dedicated to ensuring our feline friends stay happy and healthy,” Caitlyn said.
The reaccreditation also coincides with CPSV’s Santa Paws Appeal, a seasonal initiative encouraging Victorian businesses, corporations, and cat lovers to donate and support cats in need. This campaign reflects CPSV’s ongoing mission to advance feline care and welfare across the state.
