IndePet has announced that Andrew Baker, founder and former Chairman of IndePet, has been appointed interim CEO of the group.
Baker replaces outgoing CEO Todd Clarkson, who has led the group for the past five years.
“There have been some changes, but I’d describe it more as an evolution. Todd did amazing things for the group and we are extremely grateful for his time with IndePet.
“For me, stepping into the CEO role at such an exciting time, with so much happening, is something I’m really looking forward to. As one of the founders, my passion for IndePet and the independent pet channel remains as strong as ever,” Baker said.
The upcoming Hobart conference is expected to be one of IndePet’s largest to date, with keynote speakers including Damian Young and Adam Posner.
Damien Young, recognised as one of Australia’s top ten CMOs in the CMO50 Awards, has over 25 years of experience in food marketing. He has worked with major brands such as Chobani, Gippsland Dairy, Nestlé, and Lion Dairy and Drinks. Young has a proven track record in driving business growth and has played a key role in establishing strong marketing teams.
Adam Posner is a specialist in customer loyalty with over 31 years of experience in data-driven marketing. As the founder of The Point of Loyalty, he has developed insights into loyalty programs through extensive research, including 17 in-depth studies on Australian and New Zealand customer loyalty. Posner has worked across various industries, including retail, financial services, and hospitality, and is a recognised thought leader in loyalty marketing.
The company is also conducting a research project focusing on shopping habits and customer loyalty in independent pet stores across Australia and New Zealand, which has the potential to be the largest body of research conducted on the independent pet specialty channel ever.
