In light of the latest announcement regarding the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak in Greater Sydney, RSPCA NSW is taking all necessary measures to protect the health and safety of our staff, volunteers and the community. This includes closing the following locations until further notice:
Sydney Shelter (Yagoona)
Illawarra Shelter (Unanderra)
Blue Mountains Shelter (Katoomba)
Our Sydney Veterinary Hospital will be operating on a limited service. This means:
Contactless consults – our customers will be asked to contact the clinic phone upon arrival and wait outside
Routine consults not allowed – like adult vaccination/health checks.
Essential vaccines like puppy/kitten vaccines; sick animals; trauma and emergency patients only.
No elective procedures until further notice
Rest assured, these sites will function with essential staff to ensure all in-care and incoming animals are cared for. RSPCA NSW will always be there for animals who need help.
Our inspectors will continue to receive and investigate cruelty reports, with our teams following additional hygiene protocols to ensure their safety and that of the community.
As more information becomes available, our response will be adapted to ensure the safety and welfare of our teams, our animals and the wider community. The best place to find information about our response to these current restrictions will be via social media and our RSPCA NSW website here: **https://www.rspcansw.org.au/…/rspca-nsw-response-to…/
As always, should you need to report cruelty or get in touch, please phone us on 1300 278 3589.
From everyone at RSPCA NSW, stay safe.
