Tooronga Veterinary Hospital, a $6 million state-of-the-art veterinary practice, has opened in Hawthorn East, Melbourne.
The private veterinary hospital is open seven days a week, with extended hours on weekends and 24/7 emergency care, and is equipped with cutting-edge technology, including a CT scanner fit for a human hospital.
Owned and led by three dedicated doctors, Jim Smith, Adem Mercan and Andrew Nicholls, this state-of-the-art new facility promises exceptional care for cats and dogs, combined with unparalleled convenience for pet owners, including 35 free undercover car parks.
“I’m proud that we’re an independent practice, allowing us to make our own decisions and choose what is in the pet’s best interests without having to answer to external shareholders. This independence grants us the clinical freedom to offer the most suitable treatments at the right price,” said Dr Nicholls.
The hospital offers a unique drop-off service in which owners can drop off their pets in the morning, and after a thorough examination, they can consult with the veterinarians via video call to discuss their pet’s care, saving clients time and stress.
Another unique offering is the adoption of a ‘Transparent Practice’ approach, which allows pet owners to enter areas of the clinic traditionally off limits to clients.
Dr Smith says that they are challenging the status quo.
“In many clinics, owners are often left in reception, kept in the dark about treatments and hit with unexpected fees. Whereas our open floor plan empowers owners to assist in their pet’s care and spend time with them whilst they recover – just like what happens in a human hospital.”
Tooronga Veterinary Hospital has a dedicated team of highly skilled veterinary professionals boasting over a hundred years of combined experience and can perform a wide range of procedures including vaccinations, soft tissue surgery, dental treatments, and even acupuncture.
