This year’s edition holds a significant meaning for Pet Fair Asia as it marks the 25th anniversary of the show. Since its birth in 1997, Pet Fair Asia has witnessed and given its contribution to the rising of the Chinese pet industry. According to the “Blue Book of the Pet Industry”, an annual report published by apa (Asia Pet Alliance), China’s pet industry worth is estimated to reach 445.6 billion (US$66.1 billion) by the end of 2023. The pet population in China has grown by 70% in the recent decade, reaching 116 million pets in 2022, 69% of which are mainly owned by young generations from 19 to 30 years old. With the pet owner population making up only 20% of the total China’s population, the growth of the industry is only set to continue its boom.

“We are thrilled to present to the audience this year the largest Pet Fair Asia up to date. Our aim has always been to create a professional platform for the whole world pet industry to meet and strengthen cooperations in Asia Pacific, for the future development of the industry. ” – said David Zhong, President of Pet Fair Asia., Ltd & Chairman of the Executive Committee of apa. “The pet industry in the world in general and, in particular in China, continues its steady growth. China’s economic recovery is also on a positive track and it remains an important growing market, which continues to present many opportunities for the pet businesses all over the globe.” – added Zhong.
