Australian pet food company SavourLife has reached $10 million in donations to dog rescue groups across the country, supporting efforts to care for vulnerable animals and reduce euthanasia rates.
Since its launch in 2013, SavourLife has donated 50 per cent of its profits to rescue organisations. The milestone comes as part of the company’s mission to bring the number of adoptable dogs euthanised in Australia to zero.
Michael McTeigue, Founder of SavourLife, described the achievement as “beyond humbling”.
“When we started SavourLife from our kitchen table, we never imagined we’d be talking about $10 million in donations.
“Every dollar has helped a dog in need, and every customer who’s picked up a bag of SavourLife food or treats has been part of that.”
The donations have funded a range of initiatives including emergency veterinary care, desexing programs, shelter improvements, rural transport, and more than 100,000kg of dog food in 2024 alone.
SavourLife’s Adopt-A-Dog platform, launched in 2019, is now used by over 300 rescue groups to list more than 1,400 dogs each month. In 2024, it contributed over $950,000 in donations and offered new adopters a free bag of dog food.
“The stories we hear from our rescue partners – the dogs they’ve saved, the lengths they go to – it drives us to keep going, keep growing, and keep giving,” McTeigue said.
Now part of the SunRice Group, SavourLife has retained its purpose-led model while expanding its reach. Its products are made in Australia and New Zealand, with all profits continuing to support dog rescue groups.
“At the end of the day, this isn’t just about dog food – it’s about giving every dog the chance to be loved, safe, and home. That’s the real reward.”
