The Lost Dogs’ Home has announced Tanya Drakopoulos as its new Chief Executive Officer, with her tenure beginning on 13 October 2025.
Drakopoulos brings more than 20 years of experience in the animal industry, including 13 years dedicated to animal welfare. Most recently, she served as Head of Operations at the RSPCA, where she oversaw socially conscious sheltering and championed continuous improvement in animal welfare to achieve positive outcomes for companion animals.
“I’m honoured to join The Lost Dogs’ Home and lead an organisation with such a rich history and vital mission,” Drakopoulos said. “Together with the team, I look forward to building on the Home’s legacy and exploring new ways to support animals in need.”
The Lost Dogs’ Home operates with a clear vision of giving animals the best chance of a happy and healthy life. Its purpose is to care for lost dogs, cats, and other companion animals by reuniting lost pets with their families, finding new homes for others, and seeking the best possible outcomes for all animals in its care.
The organisation’s strategic pillars focus on compassionate care, maintaining a trusted and sustainable charity, delivering contemporary and future-proof facilities, being an employer of choice, and advocating fiercely for companion animal welfare.
Drakopoulos’s appointment comes at a time when The Lost Dogs’ Home is continuing to modernise its operations and strengthen its role as a leading advocate for animal welfare across Australia.
