The Cat Protection Society of Victoria (CPSV) is inviting cat lovers across Melbourne to participate in a fundraiser running from 9 September to 10 November.

The Kitten Cuddle Challenge initiative aims to raise crucial funds for CPSV, offering participants the chance to win a day of kitten cuddles at their home or workplace.

Participants—including individuals, workplaces, and organisations—can register their fundraising activities throughout September for the chance to win. CPSV will select two winners based on the funds raised and two more for the most heartwarming and unique efforts. The winners will receive a visit from a litter of kittens and the CPSV team in early December.

Rachel Bitzilis, Marketing and Communications Manager at CPSV, highlighted the joy the fundraiser brings, stating,

“It’s a chance for people to come together, enjoy some lighthearted competition, and make a real difference for cats in need.”

Participants are encouraged to get creative with their fundraising, with activities ranging from bake sales to dress-up days. In 2023, over 50 per cent of cats adopted from CPSV were kittens under six months old, highlighting the vital role of these efforts in caring for vulnerable cats.

Chloe Harcourt, Foster Care and Animal Behaviour Coordinator at CPSV, spoke about the benefits of spending time with cats, noting their ability to reduce stress and improve overall well-being.

“The Kitten Cuddle Challenge is a wonderful way to get people excited about our mission to care for and rehome kittens.”

To get involved, participants can track their progress on CPSV’s dedicated webpage and share their fundraising efforts to inspire others.
