PetWell’s annual dog walk fundraiser, the PetWell Walk for PetWellness, is returning for its third year on Sunday 5 October 2025, bringing its signature mix of community spirit, canine fun, and charitable giving back to the streets of Melbourne.
Starting at 10am from Point Park, Docklands, the 5km walk will follow a scenic route to Southbank and back, raising funds for Second Chance Animal Rescue (SCAR) under this year’s enchanting theme: Magical Mutts & Mystical Pups.
Organised and hosted by PetWell, the event is aiming to raise $15,000 for SCAR, a not-for-profit organisation that provides critical support to animals and pet owners in need.
“SCAR does incredible, life-saving work,” organisers said. “Beyond rescuing and rehoming animals, they offer vital support to families in crisis, from emergency vet care to food relief, and even foster programs for pets affected by domestic violence. Every dollar raised helps keep this essential work going.”
PetWell’s co-founder said the event is a personal passion project that reflects the organisation’s core values.
“As the co-founder of PetWell, this event is incredibly close to my heart. It’s not just a fundraiser, it’s a celebration of community, compassion, and the belief that every pet deserves a happy, healthy life,” they said.
Pet lovers with or without dogs are encouraged to dress up and take part, with the promise of whimsical vibes and plenty of entertainment, including photo opportunities, costume contests, caricature artists, expert Q&A sessions, and themed activities on the lush green event space.
Costumes are encouraged – “think wizard cloaks, sparkly wings, or even just a touch of sparkle on a leash,” organisers said.
The event is made possible through the support of several corporate partners.
Gold sponsors include RES by Mirvac, ANZ Bank, and Mirvac.
Silver sponsors are Knose Pet Insurance and AJ’s Pet Care.
Bronze sponsors include Frontier Pet Food, Melbourne Animal Physiotherapy, and Bugsy Pet Food.
Early bird tickets are now available, and for those unable to attend, donations or purchases of a $10 “magical gift bag” are encouraged, with 100 per cent of proceeds going to SCAR. Each bag contains more than $80 in value.
“Let’s walk with purpose, paw in hand, and make a difference together,” the organisers said.
