Online registration is now open for Pet Fair Asia 2025, Asia’s largest pet industry trade event, taking place in Shanghai from 20 to 24 August.
The show will feature more than 2,500 exhibitors across over 300,000 square metres at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. In 2024, the event recorded over 124,000 trade visitors from 91 countries, the highest attendance to date. Organisers have announced that nearly 90 per cent of exhibitor space has already been reserved.
David Zhong, President and Founder of Pet Fair Asia, said that China remains a key market for both manufacturing and consumption in the pet industry.
“While many Chinese and Asian companies participate in international trade shows around the world, the scale and depth of innovation showcased at Pet Fair Asia are truly unmatched. Our event provides a unique opportunity for a global audience to experience this firsthand, on a large scale.
“As China continues to strengthen its ties with the emerging markets, our show acts as a gateway to nearby regions, facilitating companies’ diversification and long-term growth.”
Exhibitors will present a wide range of products and services including pet food, healthcare, accessories, grooming, and veterinary solutions. A dedicated supply chain section, Pet Fair Asia SUPPLY, will host 600 exhibitors in seven outdoor halls. The Pet Fair Veterinary segment will span 30,000 square metres and include over 700 pet health and medical brands.
Global companies confirmed to attend include Acana, Royal Canin, Purina, Mars, Boehringer Ingelheim, and Farmina. Country pavilions will also feature representatives from Japan, South Korea, New Zealand, the United States, and others.
Steve Jones, Trade Commissioner in Shanghai for New Zealand Trade and Enterprise, said Pet Fair Asia provides a great platform for NZ exporters to connect with industry professionals and practitioners and gain firsthand consumer insights.
“We appreciate the hard work and continuous efforts of the organiser to optimise the exhibitors experience and facilitate business introductions.”
According to the Asia Pet Alliance’s Blue Book of the Pet Industry, China’s pet market was valued at approximately RMB 300 billion (around AUD 64 billion) in 2024, with spending increasing at a rate of 5.5 per cent. Growth is largely driven by lower-tier cities, with pet ownership still under 25 per cent nationwide, indicating room for expansion.
Pet Fair Asia is part of the broader Pet Fair Network, which includes events in Beijing, Shenzhen, and Bangkok, aimed at supporting the growing pet industry across Asia.
