The RSPCA Rescue Run is kicking off today, with participants taking on the challenge of running 67km over two weeks, to raise funds that will help prevent animal cruelty.
The 67km goal represents the 67 animals that currently experience cruelty every day. Every dollar raised from RSPCA Rescue Run will help RSPCA inspectors investigate the 14,425 cruelty reports received each year.
The RSPCA is seeking to raise $150k through its Rescue Run initiative, and at time of publishing, more than $92k had already been raised.
Inbar Millo, Senior Fundraising Manager, RSPCA NSW, encourages everyone to get involved with the Rescue Run.
“Whether you’re a dog-lover, cat-person, or prefer more exotic creatures in your life, this is your chance to get moving for animals in need,” said Millo.
Sign-up to the RSPCA Rescue Run online to receive a personal fundraising page and access to resources to share your progress with family and friends.
The 67km challenge can be completed in one day or multiple days during the month and participants are encouraged to share their progress on social media with the RSPCA NSW community by using @RSPCANSW and #rescuerun.
