Vetafarm has reintroduced its Deli Stix range, a selection of natural foraging treats for parrots and small animals, after a five-year break.
The relaunch follows extensive research and development to enhance both nutrition and enrichment for pets. The updated range includes Natural Nibbles for small parrots, Forage & Feast for medium to large parrots, and Herbivore Harvest for rabbits and guinea pigs. Each product is made with a 100 per cent natural plant-based binder and features a recyclable, reusable hanger.
Ben Mintern, Managing Director at Vetafarm, highlighted the company’s commitment to ethical pet care.
“Foraging behaviour is essential for birds and small animals’ well-being, but many treats on the market prioritise cost-effective ingredients rather than nutritional impact. With Deli Stix, we’ve always taken the opposite approach, offering a product that bridges both the nutritional and foraging gap.”
John Grima, Owner of Kellyville Pets, said as more people embrace their pets as true members of the family, there’s a growing demand for high-quality, enriching treats.
“The new Deli Stix range stands out with its appealing look, fresh packaging and eco-friendly features, like the recyclable cardboard hanger. I expect customers will love the updated design and appreciate the effort to make treats that keep their animals healthy.”
Vetafarm invested four years and significant resources into refining the product, including the transition from plastic to a reusable cardboard hanger and the development of a natural binder.
“We had to completely rethink the way Deli Stix are formed, bound, dried, and packaged,” Mintern said. “The result is an innovative product that respects both pets and the planet.”
Oliver Whetton, a Sydney-based bird enthusiast who studies wildlife conservation, has observed the benefits of Deli Stix with his Sun Conure, Juno.
“Providing healthy, foraging-based treats like Deli Stix Forage & Feast emulates the natural challenges parrots face in the wild. It’s also reassuring that the eco-friendly packaging aligns with my commitment to caring for both my birds and the environment.”
Deli Stix is now available in pet stores, continuing Vetafarm’s focus on sustainable and nutritionally balanced pet care solutions.
