Mars has announced the appointment of Helio Fujita as Global People and Organisation Vice President for its pet health, services, and nutrition division.
The Petcare business, valued at over US $30 billion, includes brands such as Pedigree, Royal Canin, and Whiskas, along with veterinary services across more than 130 countries.
Loïc Moutault, President of Mars Petcare, said that Fujita’s combination of deep experience across HR and commercial strategy coupled with his proven track record in building organisational capabilities to drive business growth will be incredible assets to the team.
“We are confident he will make a significant contribution to our business, our people agenda and in driving our purpose: A better world for pets.”
Fujita brings over 25 years of human resources experience across sectors including healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and automotive. He most recently held a senior position at Fresenius Kabi, and has also worked with Abbott, Novartis, and Sandoz, gaining global experience across Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, Asia-Pacific and Europe.
On his appointment, Fujita said: “The Mars Petcare business is one that I have admired, their transformation over the last decade has been hugely impressive and Mars is an organization known for its special company culture and Principles. I’m excited to join the team.”
Rebecca Snow, VP People and Organisation/CHRO at Mars, Incorporated, added: “Helio brings a wealth of HR and business transformation experience across diverse industries and geographies, which will strengthen our People & Organization function across Mars and drive real business impact in Mars Petcare.”
Fujita will step into the role in July, reporting directly to Moutault.
